Notes from a Rainy Street
By Lou•2025-11-20

Finding beauty in the reflections of puddles on a grey afternoon.
Rain changes the texture of the city. It washes away the dust and leaves behind a glossy, cinematic veneer. People hurry, umbrellas bloom like colorful mushrooms, and the world becomes a watercolor painting.
But if you stop and look, there's a delicate poetry in the way raindrops dance on the pavement, and how the streetlights reflect in the puddles, creating upside-down universes. The smell of wet asphalt—petrichor—is a scent that grounds you in the present moment.
We often run from the rain, but walking slowly through it changes your perspective entirely. It forces you to notice the small details you usually rush past.
"Every puddle is a mirror to an upside-down sky."
